Summer wedding at Scorrier House

Jenn and Tom chose to host a summer wedding at the glorious Scorrier House.  It’s always a joy to come back to the house as this is where I got married almost a decade ago!

Such a super chilled out couple, Jenn and Tom knew exactly what they wanted from their wedding day.  They really understood that the day was about the two of them saying their vows, shared with their closest family and friends.  They wanted their day to be full of fun and laughter.

With both big kids (!!) and small in mind, they booked a selection of our popular lawn games and our super fun Fairground peep board.  To add a couple of finishing touches, Jenn and Tom also hired some of our decorative items.

We loved supplying this gorgeous wedding. We rather fell in love with their adorable dog Peggy too! Have a peek at their day below.  Images by Christian Michael Photography

Intimate Winter Elopment – A Styled Shoot at Tregothnan

The Tregothnan estate needs no introduction to those who reside or visit Cornwall.  Home to Lord Falmouth, it’s the largest private estate in the county and home to the infamous Tregothnan Tea!

Adding a new string to their bow, Tregothnan are now supporting the British flower growing industry by providing cut flowers and floristry.  When we were asked to style their first ever bridal photo shoot, there was only one answer.  Getting access to the estate is a tremendous privilege and we were thrilled to be involved.

When the day of the shoot arrived we had severe weather warnings for gales and torrential rain.  The whole shoot team decided to embrace the very British weather and set up an intimate table in the Chinese pagoda that overlooks the tea plantation.

The table was swagged in raw muslin and foliage, with a colour pallet of deep lapis and navy blues, offset against the soft pale pink and ivory. The addition of the ivory and blue china, luxurious handmade silk napkins and satin ribbon added just the right touch of luxury.

The incredible hand painted cake and signature edible teacups by Emily Hankins look striking on our Dressing Table.  Emily’s colour pallet working perfectly with the styling elements of the table.

It took a real team effort to pull off this shoot despite the most horrific weather.  While the shoot team were decked out in full waterproofs, our trooper of a model Jodie wore a stunning blush Private Label gown by G, Ella Rosa Collection from Bliss Bridal Gowns, Perranporth.

A Garden Wedding at Cosawes Barton

On the edge of pretty village of Ponsanooth, just a few short miles from the south Cornish coast lies the wonderful 17th Century Cosawes Barton.  A fairly new venue to the Cornish wedding scene, it offers not only 5* accommodation but also extensive woodlands, meadow, marquee lawn and formal flower gardens.

The very lovely Sophie and her beau, Joe, came to us while planning the outdoor space for their wedding. Their wedding very much embraced the natural beauty of its surroundings.  They chose to marry under Cosawes bespoke arbour, at the end of a long natural aisle, flanked by a woodland grove.

Their Absolute Canvas marquee was nestled amongst the trees leaving a large lawn space to the front.  Plenty of space to be filled with mingling guests, and our famous games!

Sophie chose a wide selection of our fun and games, including our Fairground Peep Board, lawn games and coconut shy, to keep guests entertained.  For those wishing to bask in the late summer sun, Sophie chose a selection of our deckchairs, and our much loved bundle of knit blankets to lay over hay bales.

Whispers Of Du Maurier – A Styled Shoot

Styling and words by Gemma Rawlinson for Box and Cox Vintage Hire.

Photography by Joanne Clement for Enchanted Brides

Enys House - Box and Cox photoshoot 3.jpg

Surrounded by Cornwall’s wildly romantic landscapes, Enys House has stood still in time for almost a century. With its eight hundred year history and ancient gardens over-flowing with exotic botanicals, this once great estate has exceptional atmosphere and could easily be plucked from the pages of a Daphine Du Maurier’s classic.

Taking inspiration from Enys’ rich history of adventurous custodians who gathered plants from across the globe, we used botanicals to breathe new life into dormant spaces. Soft, delicate chiffons juxtapose the crumbling plaster and bare stone. Antique pieces from the Box and Cox Vintage Hire collection set the mood. A host of exquisite artisans local to Cornwall create the details of our story.

With echoes of the novel, ‘Rebecca’, the bride gazes from the vast windows, awaiting her groom whilst dressed in a timeless ensemble. Designed by couturier Claire L Headdon, the intricately beaded tulle cover up is worn over a delicate silk camisole and floor length georgette and soft double crepe skirt. A hand beaded lace hair comb from milliner Holly Young and Rachel Simpson shoes from The Bridal House of Cornwall completes the look.

The bride’s oversized bouquet with its sumptuous jewel tones fill the shadows with colour and beauty. Hand dyed silk ribbons from Lancaster and Cornish give a soft and feminine finish.

The groom, attired as if returning from adventurous travel, arrives wearing a Panama hat adorned with feathered brooch pin from Holly Young Millinery. A simple black tuxedo pays homage to the 1930s era of Du Maurier’s earliest masterpieces.

Our real life couple perform their vows in front of one of Box and Cox’s bespoke backdrops – a soft ivory chiffon, adorned with light catching glass beads and metallic leaves.  The couple enjoy stolen moments amongst Enys’ captivating spaces.

The brides stunning rings, designed by Mirri Damer, include a diamond band and an unusual 3 ring stack engagement ring created using yellow gold and green tourmalines.

Time to dine and delight in the company of those whom we hold dear.  A table plan, designed by Laura Likes, is displayed on Box and Cox’s large ornate mirror, draped with foliage.

The dining table housed inside the once grand library awaits the guests. A simple ivory pallet with aged metallic accents adds light to space, while the floral centrepieces, designed by This Rugged Coast, creates drama and romance. Ranunclus, anemone, tulip, rhododendron and camellia radiate their beauty.

The 1930s inspired four tier cake, designed and created by Peboryon, is seated upon a simple vintage writing desk. Filled with lush ferns and adorned with silk ribbon, the botanical vibe filters throughout every styling element.
